Hey, readers!
I’m going to cut to the chase because today is my favorite episode of the year: my annual best books of the year episode with Liz Hein. Liz has read 135 new releases this year (I know…staggering!) so she is the perfect person to chat with about the books of 2024.
In this episode we each bring our top 10 books of the year. These are exclusively 2024 releases—I’ll share my backlist favorites and no frills top 10 at a later date. In the style of The Watch podcast, we count down our favorites from ten to one, discussing any overlap when we get to the person who ranked it higher.
For the first time, this episode is exclusively for Patreon members and paid subscribers to the newsletter. While I’ll still share my favorite books publicly in a future newsletter and on Instagram, the episode itself is behind a paywall for one reason: I’m paying Liz for the time it takes her to prep for and record these episodes, and it’s important to me to be able to continue that. I so appreciate the financial support that’s allowed me to bring on team members like Liz and to keep putting out exceptional book and reading content.
If you’re interested in upgrading, I am currently running a sale on annual memberships, which I have extended until the end of this month. I have lots more end-of-the year lists and goodies plus some exciting things planned for the paid tier of FictionMatters in the new year, so it’s a great time to join!
Alright, let’s get into the BEST BOOKS OF 2024!
