Welcome to This Month in Books! If you’re a new subscriber, I’m very excited to introduce you to this exclusive monthly podcast series where I chat with my friend and super reader Liz Hein about our month in books. In these monthly chats we’ll check in about what’s making news in the literary world and share a handful of books we need to discuss. These are often books we feel we have more to say about than we can typically fit in a regular review or books we had complicated feelings about that we need to address.
This month we’re chatting about our summer reading vibes and the summer reading guides we’re perusing for new book recommendations. We also touch on that dreadful AI generated reading list and what it means for reading lists in general. As for the books, I share two new releases I got to after the PSRG published as well as a very divisive book club pick that I loved. Liz has a handful of new releases including two new books from a PSRG authors, a fall release that had her in tears, and a whole list of books she vetted that did not make the summer reading guide.
