Welcome to This Month in Books, an exclusive podcast series for FictionMatters subscribers. In these monthly chats we’ll check in about what’s making news in the literary world and share a handful of books we need to discuss.
Today, Liz and I talk a bit about book blurbs and our thoughts on the imprinting doing away with them. Then we each share four books we read in February. For those of you who love the new and shiny, I have good news: it’s mostly new and upcoming releases in this month’s batch. Liz’s books include a book she teased as a most anticipated release last month, a couple speculative novels, and the final book in a series that has been an emotional rollercoaster for her. As for me, I have two brand new nonfiction titles (who am I?!), a classic paired with some pastiche, and one of my most anticipated books of the year that did not hit the way I had hoped.
We hope you enjoy this month’s literary conversation! Let us know in the comments if you have read or will read any of the books we discuss today!
