I related SO MUCH to your thoughts around continuing to share your reading life with the public, and the "what am I doing here" questions. In an environment that can feel saturated with bookish voices, I often wonder if I'm offering anything useful or unique. And I TRY (it doesn't always work) to remind myself that my voice is unique enough – we as individuals are unique with different thoughts/opinions/ides to offer. Also, I'm bumping up Mother in the Dark on my TBR, your description makes it sound right up my alley! Thanks for bringing that one to my attention.
I love the Shabbat plan. After listening to the Ezra Klein podcast about Sabbath, and toying around with it for years, I really do want to try making Sunday a true day of rest. I’m not religious, but am really drawn to a day to rest and reset. Of course, it includes books read slowly!
Hi! I love your newsletter -- and you have so much to offer as opposed to some of the others. I feel the same way sometimes when I sit down to write, too, but you know what, we all bring our own slant to the book loving community. And as someone who loves books and writes books and breathes books day to day, I'm still always looking for fresh takes on bookish content. xo Three years is amazing! I just started last on Substack last month, but after years of writing, this is such a warm and welcoming community -- all voices are really appreciated. :)
I’m pretty sure I heard about Salt Fields from Chelsey. I haven’t read it yet though!

I’m excited about Salt Fields and Old Drift especially. Louise asking if you were happy warmed my heart 😊

Always the best part of my Sundays! Thank you for all the effort and time you put into sharing your reading life with us.
