Julia Whelan...a personal fave. There is so much in this post that I can identify with and agree with, and why I love reading so much.
And also, only English teachers are responsible for reading? What a weight and a disservice to reading and writing and what it means to be a thinking and growing person. If we only do that 60 minutes a day, then how could we possibly be readers??
Just had a discussion with my teenager about the fine line between teaching how to read and how to love to read. This was timely and really informative. I'm looking forward to bringing these points back to her!
I loved this article. Thanks for sharing. I can only do audio books and was glad to hear that audio books are recognized. They can be a controversial subject. I truly believe that there are several books out there that should only be enjoyed in audio.
Just downloaded Thank You For Listening! So excited to listen :)
