I haven't bought one (or 12?!) but I just bought new journal supplies ... upgrading to simplify, if that makes sense? and Blackwing goes right along with what I'm trying to do. I was a bit surprised you linked the Matte pencil, which is such a soft lead. I was leaning toward the Pearl or the 602 ... how does the Matte do with writing in your books? and do you have the sharpener? I'm kind of obsessed with the pencil's points!
This makes total sense and I'm in agreement! The Matte happened to be the one I grabbed at the shop! I actually like a really soft lead, but this one does wear down very quickly--though I love how smooth it is writing in my books. I'm going to try another type next and then I will likely invest in the sharpener too 😂
I don’t know if you follow Austin Kleon, but he has a long-standing family movie and pizza night (Fridays) and has curated an exhaustive list of kid-friendly films. I get his Substack, but I think he had a photo of his movie night log on his IG recently. Good for future planning!
It’s a tool not a pencil. Would you spend $2.60 on an excellent tool? Of course. Just use them up instead of losing them and you’re golden to choose the superior tool.
