I love December reading. December is always the most spontaneous and occasionally chaotic month of reading for me. While I didn’t read as many books as I typically do in a month, I had some really great reading experiences. Even the book I didn’t enjoy was a great reading experience!

In today’s episode, Liz and I share (by request) a handful of books we didn’t enjoy in 2024 before ruminating on the end-of-year book discourse and then each sharing three books we read this month. Each of us include a 2025 release that we read early and each of us feel that these books could be contenders for favorite books of all of 2025.

If you want to learn more about this podcast series and listen to the inaugural episode for free, check out the September episode. We are having so much fun with these and hope our casual bookish conversations are bringing you a little joy and a lot of great books.

This month I’ve also included the Substack generated transcript for those who don’t enjoy the audio format. To access this, you must view this newsletter in your web browser.
