Hey Book Clubbers!
Today I’m joined by recurring FictionMatters contributor Liz Hein. You probably know Liz from her IG handle @lizisreading_ where she shares thoughtful reviews for the astounding number of books she reads each year. Last year, Liz joined me to talk about our best books of the year. We had so much fun we decided we couldn’t wait until the end of 2023 to do it again so today we’re sharing our best books of the year so far.
This episode is packed with books, and you can find all the titles in the notes below. Our favorites are bolded and time stamped if you want to jump straight to those.
Next month, I'm putting together a community best books of the year (so far) episode. If you'd like to contribute, just record a short voice memo on your phone or computer and email the file to fictionmattersbooks@gmail.com. Try to keep your message under 3 minutes and include the title, author, a little bit of plot summary, and why you loved it. I've never done this before so I don't know if I'll get 3 submissions or 33, but I'm looking forward to putting it together and sharing with all of you.
Generally, Books That Matter episodes are a perk of my Patreon community, but this episode along with next month's Community Best Books episode are available to the paid newsletter subscribers as well! Thank you all SO much for being part of this community. You support all the work that goes into FictionMatters and make me a better reader too!
