Hey, readers!
I am so excited to tell you about my September reads! Each month for Patreon and paid newsletter subscribers I share an audio file where I describe and rank every book I read in the month prior. And this one is going to be GOOD.
Today’s list is filled with books that are perfect for fall reading, including quite a few mysteries. As I’ve been trying to figure out what sorts of mysteries and plot-driven fiction works for me, I’ve had some personal misses, but also come across some really fun, fast-paced, and puzzling books. I’ve learned that it’s hard for me to care much about the crimes in crime fiction unless there’s a gothic twist.
In addition to mysteries, September’s roundup includes some out-of-the-box and memorable historical fiction, literary fiction with surprising structures, a super short and hyper literary novel you can read in an hour, and the ultimate slump-buster.
Below you’ll find the audio file along with one sentence reviews, readalikes, and a time stamp so you can skip straight to the books that interest you!
Let me know in the comments if you read any of the same books as me last month and which ones you plan to pick up after today's episode!
Alright, let’s get to the books!
