Hey, readers!

Thanks to my wonderful reader friends

Chelsey Feder
and
Natalie
, I have gotten over my preconceived notions of the romance genre and come to find romance books that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. After discovering that I could in fact love romance novels, I went on a bit of a bender, got burned out, avoided them for a while, and have finally settled into the right balance for me. I know when, in my own reading life, it’s time to pick up a romance and I know the type of romance that I tend to enjoy.

But my first love will always be the love stories in which we aren’t guaranteed a happy ending. After all, I was a Brontë girl before I ever picked up Jane Austen. Today, I’m sharing 12 of my favorite literary love stories if you’re in the mood for something a little different this Valentine’s Day.
