Friday Mood Recs: A slew of books for scattered minds
Creepy reads, motivating nonfiction, escapist books, and November releases
We are days out from the U.S. election and I have accepted that my mind will be scattered and my screen time will off the charts at least until it’s over. I may also need at least one trip to the bookstore to make it through. I am stressed.
So when I sat down to write this post, I really wasn’t sure where to go with today’s recommendations. Should I proceed in typical fashion and offer you recs for upcoming November releases? Should I recommend a bunch of escapist books? Politically motivating nonfiction? Hopeful stories?
As mentioned, my brain is in a million places at once so I decided to just give you a little bit of everything. Today’s recommendations include everything from fantasy escapes to anticipated releases to even more spooky books to timely nonfiction to quiet historical novels (because for whatever reason that’s what I’ve been in the mood for.)
I hope you find something to carry you through, my friends. And if you’re in the U.S., make sure you have a voting plan!
